New Beginnings

Its been an unfortunate while since my last post, but at the same time it feels like a new start! I had been going through a dark time in my life over the last couple of months. I let my emotions and feelings get to me and for a good while, I was trapped in a shell, trying to find my way out.

There were moments where I would draft a blog post and leave them drafted, only because I was writing for the sake of writing, not for the sake of passion, love and involvement. I believe topics should be written from inspiration and admiration, most importantly, things should be written solely from the heart. During the dark pause I had experienced, I lost that sense of passion. I had no urge to explore the world, nor did I have the motivation to photograph and write. I struggled to get up, I struggled to deliver and I struggled to focus. I lost touch of the world.

In the end all I needed was time. Time to be cured, time to learn, time to grow up and time to be the aspiring person I once was. This meant a pause on my blog and a pause in design and photography. I had such a profound support from some of the readers, who had contacted me to ensure I was on track. I have learnt alot during this pause and now I feel stronger than I originally was. I got my design mojo back and will be snapping away all over again! I have re-experimented with different pieces and with Spring just around the corner, I believe Plumpcheriie is back onto a good start!

Alexa Chung - Style Inspiration

Over the next couple of posts, you will find photo after photo of style inspiration from the celebrities and names I adore. After having a crazy 3 month shopping spree here in Sydney, I started to get lost through the clutter of clothes, shoes, bags and accessories I had purchased.

I stood in front of a very full and long wardrobe of clothes today, not knowing what to wear. I'm sure we've all had one of those days and it boy was it frustrating! I felt like I had writer block.

So rather than complaining about my current problem, I thought this was the perfect moment to find style inspiration from the celebrities, models and names that I adore and share it with readers. Sometimes, surfing the net, browsing blogs and stalking celebrities is all you need to get that fashion mojo back!

I am absolutely in love with Alexa Chung's ever so casual chic look. She always looks so effortlessly sophisticated and casual at the same time. From her free flowing hair down to her spidery long legs, Alexa's got a story to tell in all her outfits. She is the definition of Fashion Simplicity!

I'm loving this contrasted navy and white star top. It is definitely the piece that speaks to you first. Check out how she rolled her blouse and grey cardigan together. Something so small can do oh so much.

I am loving this feminine bikey look. Alexa is really into shapes and prints to make one part of her outfit. In this case the free flowing chiffon polka dot skirt, really complements her jacket and sunnies. This is definitely Bold and Beautiful.
Here, she is playing with both prints and texture. She looks so snug in that jumper against a skirt she could easily pull of if she goes to an event.

I am absolutely loving short boots and long socks rite now....especially cable knit socks.
Again, Alexa finds a bold print through scarves to make her outfit work. I am loving the grey man blazer here. She looks so comfortable
I am really loving the lace. It reminds me of a young ballerina girl - contemporised ofcourse! This looks amazing with the black stockings and shoes.
At a Perrier Event. Alexa looks simple and classic in this number, with overlaying necklaces finishing this classic look.

Salute to the Military!

Winter this year finally has a new face! The military boot has defended the norm by adding a bolder, stronger and tougher look to the cold weather........with comfort ofcourse!

Embraced by celebrities, models and designer the military inspired boot has given the most feminine outfits a bolder and stronger edge! It's like reliving 90210 in the good old days where Kelly would wear light brown lace up boots with floral dresses.

This year, I'm loving the emphasis on leather and bold structures and shoudler pads. hat I lve most is the fact that looking good doesn't come at a cost of feeling painful. The military boot is insulated to encapsulate heat and have a shock resistant sole. Well cushioned and is definitely heaven on your feet!

I recently got the roc military boot (above) as a gift and would definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone!

"To me, New York was Jackson Pollock sipping vodka and dripping paint onto a raw canvas." Edie Sedgewick

Edie Sedgwick (April 20, 1943 - November 16, 1971 was known as an American Actress, socialite, model and heiress and most importantly; she was famous for being Andy Warhol's muses.

I idolise her unique sense of fashion which went against what society considered to be acceptable at the time. Her uniformed look would consist of black leotards, mini dresses and large chandelier earrings.

Her sense of fashion then is still apparent till this very day with mini dresses and leotard storming at it's peak. I absolutely adore the photographs of Edie during her career. She always looked so natural and comfortable in her own skin despite her personal struggle with anorexia.

The photographs have inspired me to test out my manual film camera which my dad had passed on to me. I hope to be able create the same effect like the images you see hear.

Enjoy

Bamboo Craft

I recently purchased a Wacom Bamboo Craft. For those who are wondering what this is, it is a creative device allowing you to create artisitic pieces, edit photos and add personal touches to various sorts of imagery through the touch of a pen which is transmitted through to the computer.

I made this purchase to further my graphic designs skills and draw up some fashion illustrations. I love to sketch and draw on my weekends, so I am very excited!

I will be sure to loads my works once they are done!
